Creating a Living Process in ARIS Process Mining

Your process mining project has delivered valuable insights and uncovered improvement opportunities. The next step is to embed process mining into your organization’s daily operations by establishing living connections to your transactional and analytical platforms.

This advisory service supports your team with the design, installation, and configuration activities
needed to enable direct, incremental, and secure connectivity through five supported options:

  • Process Extractor – JDBC Seamlessly connect ARIS Process Mining to leading enterprise databases (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL) for continuous, incremental insights.
  • Process Extractor – SAP Unlock end-to-end visibility by integrating directly with SAP ECC or S/4HANA systems for real-time process monitoring.
  • Data Ingestion API Gain maximum flexibility by streaming process data directly from staging layers, data lakes, or existing ETL pipelines into ARIS Process Mining.
  • Process Extractor – Databricks & Azure Data Lake Harness the power of cloud-scale analytics by integrating with Databricks and Azure Data Lake to mine insights from modern data platforms.
  • HTTP Extractor Extend your reach to SaaS solutions and web services with secure, configurable extraction from REST APIs and HTTP endpoints—supporting both scheduled and incremental updates.

By selecting one or more of these connectivity options, your organization can achieve sustainable,
continuous process mining and move closer to operational excellence.

Who benefits from this offer?

  • Senior Executives: Monitor process performance and create insights on a regular basis to manage your process proactively.
  • Process Owners and Business Analysts: Get instant alerts and insights from you running processes to enable immediate action. Shorten the reaction and improvement cycles through constant monitoring.

What are the benefits of Instructor-Led Training?

  • Expert advisory guidance on the design, installation, and configuration of JDBC, SAP, API, Databricks/Data Lake, or HTTP Extractors
  • Accelerated transition from batch to continuous process mining using your preferred data connectivity option(s)
  • Best practices for governance, authentication, and secure connectivity across all supported options
  • A scalable, enterprise-wide connectivity architecture for incremental process data extraction.
  • Hands-on enablement so your team can independently maintain and extend connectivity

Scope

5-day advisory engagement covering:

  • Kick-Off & planning – Define success criteria, select preferred data connectivity option(s)
  • Architecture design – High-level connectivity and security design for JDBC, SAP, API, Databricks/Data Lake, or HTTP
  • Implementation & configuration – Guided installation and configuration of the chosen extractor(s).
  • Validation & knowledge transfer – Test incremental refreshes, validate data, and document the solution

Exclusions:

No custom integrations, measures, calculated attributes, or dashboard extensions (available via Consultant Mentoring services).

How does it work?

Kick-off workshop to align goals, select connectivity option(s), and agree on engagement plan.

Workshops & working sessions:

  1. Governance & access setup.
  2. Architecture design for the chosen option(s).
  3. Installation and configuration of JDBC Extractor, SAP Extractor, Databricks/Data Lake Extractor, HTTP Extractor, or Data Ingestion API.
  4. Testing & validation of incremental updates.
  5. Handover with solution documentation.

Service result

By the end of this engagement, your team will be able to operate a continuous data extraction service
for one or more of the following:

  • Process Extractor – JDBC
  • Process Extractor – SAP
  • ARIS Process Mining Data Ingestion API
  • Process Extractor – Databricks & Azure Data Lake
  • HTTP Extractor

Design and maintain a repeatable, secure ingestion process for ARIS Process Mining.
Confidently extend the solution to new processes, data sources, and platforms.

Key assumptions

  • The customer has an active ARIS Process Mining environment (SaaS or On-Prem) with required licenses
  • The customer has executed an initial ARIS Process Mining activation (e.g., via Fast Track Service) or has a working CSV-based solution in place.
  • Source system experts (DBA, SAP basis, API/data owners, etc.) are available to provide access, credentials, and technical details for the selected connectivity option(s).
  • Data guardian approval is obtained for the transfer of transactional or analytical data into ARIS Process Mining.
  • Network access, firewall rules, and connectivity prerequisites (e.g., JDBC drivers, SAP RFC destinations, API tokens, Databricks/HTTP credentials) are made available prior to the engagement.
  • The customer provides test and production environments (where applicable) for validation of data extraction.
  • Any required ETL/data preparation tooling (outside of ARIS-provided extractors and APIs) is the responsibility of the customer.
  • All activities will be conducted in English unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Services will be delivered during standard business days and hours as defined in ARIS Professional Services Terms and Conditions.
