ARIS launches ‘Task Mining by ProcessMaker’ to remove process blindspots
Saarbrucken, Germany – March 13, 2025: ARIS, a leader in Process Intelligence, has launched ARIS Task Mining by ProcessMaker, a new product for the ARIS Suite that brings together system- and manual-processes. The new product will help organizations to remove process blindspots as they attempt to optimize ways of working and increase the automation of key processes.
The industry-leading ARIS Process Mining solution helps cost cutting initiatives by identifying inefficient processes, and task mining captures all manual elements of the end-to-end process. This complete picture helps ensure that automations are created accurately and are reflective of the desired outcome. In addition, the new ARIS product will help to fill in missing steps in any process documentation by capturing manual processes.
Marc Vietor, Chief Product Officer, ARIS, commented: “We’re seeing customers with 20% or more of their processes happening manually and/or outside of trackable systems. This inevitably means that both time and costs are wasted. The lack of standardization also increases the risk of errors that disrupt key functions further down the line. Task Mining helps understand what’s happening within these manual processes. The real story of what’s happening is the only sound basis for making impactful decisions that improve efficiency.”
Task Mining allows organizations to understand how individual and/or teams complete important tasks both inside and outside of existing parameters. For example, sales teams’ LinkedIn research on prospects falls outside of a process mining view of a typical CRM workflow, but it happens, is key to the process and could be automated to some degree when it’s understood. There are many more examples throughout multiple departments in any organization.
Managing Shadow AI
One of the benefits of task mining is that it can help to uncover where Shadow AI (and Shadow IT more broadly) is being used within processes. Recent research from ARIS shows that 75% of employees use Shadow AI, but only 63% of organizations think that it’s used in their business. Similarly, 73% of organizations see Shadow IT as a problem that contributes to Operational Chaos. ARIS Task Mining by ProcessMaker can help to alleviate these challenges.
Marc Vietor continued: “Organizations are under a lot of pressure to manage costs, improve their compliance efforts or boost productivity, but they can’t do this with a blindspot in their processes. A powerful combination of Process and Task Mining, as now exists within the ARIS Suite, makes it possible to overcome these challenges and empower organizations to achieve operational excellence.”
The new ARIS Task Mining by ProcessMaker product is the result of a new partnership with ProcessMaker, which highlights ARIS’s ongoing commitment to innovation and customer success. By directly selling ProcessMaker as part of the ARIS portfolio of products, it will deliver even greater value to organizations worldwide, driving meaningful change and operational excellence.
Alex George, CEO of ProcessMaker, commented, “Collaborating with ARIS enables us to bring the power of Task Mining and process automation to a much broader global audience. Together, we’re equipping organizations with the tools they need to design, simulate, run, and optimize their operations and achieve lasting success.”
